Finally!!

Finally!!!!! After a good month of preparation, radiation treatments have started! Now there are 21 more sessions ahead over the next five and a half weeks. A number of other forms of medical treatment began at a month ago.

The tumor itself is only about half the size of a peanut, so if offensive size means anything, we should have it beat. I have also been invited to take part in a study program relating to a mutation in the particular type of cancer I apparently have. This may offer the possibility of complementary treatment.

Things become more and more interesting the deeper one gets involved in the massive healthcare system here in Sweden. The upside of the downside is that, so far, I'm feeling fine.

In any case, I am very grateful to have full access to one of the world’s most modern and comprehensive medical facilities -- and close at hand. I will be spending a considerable amount of time in Gothenburg over the next five weeks, and I am glad that Nona — (kid #6) — has an apartment in the city that I can use.

The future as always is pending, yet lies before us as an amazing puzzle. We are doing the best we can to fit together the assorted pieces that still remain on the table. We'll see what it will look like when they all find their place.
